SSAI Technology Overview
Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI) or Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) is an advanced technology that provides a seamless viewing experience by adding advertisements to video content on the server side. Unlike traditional client-side ad insertion methods, SSAI makes advertisements part of the content stream, thereby eliminating issues such as buffering problems, transition issues, and ad blockers.

Working Principle

Content Stream
Video stream from content providers (HLS, DASH, etc.) is directed to AdsOnline SSAI servers. At this stage, the content manifest file is analyzed and ad insertion points (cue points) are determined.

Ad Decision
The most suitable ads are selected by communicating with ad servers. In this process, targeted ads are determined using viewer data (demographic, behavioral, geographical). AdsOnline works integrated with all major ad servers and SSPs.

Dynamic Insertion
Ads are seamlessly added to the content stream. At this stage, ad segments are transcoded to the same encoding profile and quality as content segments, making transitions smooth. The manifest file is rewritten and combined as a single stream.

Viewer Experience
End users experience a seamless viewing experience. Since transitions between content and ads are smooth, users have an experience similar to traditional TV viewing. At the same time, ad viewing and interaction data is collected.
